The Ysleta Mission was built in the 17th century to give refuge to and Christianize Pueblo Indians of El Paso’s lower valley. Hundreds of years later, it still stands as an historic church and popular tourist attraction. It is the second oldest continually operating church in the United States. It is located just north of Ysleta Park in southern El Paso.
